Deedee

Delilah (aka Deedee)

Delilah (aka Deedee) is a miniature Australian double doodle adopted from a breeder in Fallbrook.  As an Australian double doodle, she has a great combination of genes. Like her retriever rellies, she loves to fetch the ball and bring it back to the pitcher.  Like her cocker rellies, she has big floppy ears, and like her poodle mommy and daddy, she doesn’t shed a hair.  Deedee has been trained by the best to prepare for this position as our facility dog.  She still works with her personal trainer, Chris Moredock, and has also graduated from Laura Christiansen’s outstanding Canine Learning Center in Carlsbad.

Deedee’s favorite day is when she gets to come to work.  She curls up on her pillow in Jodie’s office and waits for the kids and therapists to come and greet her.  When clients enter the room, she tries to stay on her pillow until she is released, but it’s so hard to resist licking the sugar and ketchup off everyone’s hands!

Her gifts are her desire to please, her positive energy and her playfulness.  She can snap you out of a bad mood faster than you can blink!  She loves our kids more than she loves herself!!  Even when Jodie leaves the room for 60 seconds, she gives her the best greeting and plants a wet kiss on her foot. Having the opportunity to greet Deedee can entice reluctant children to participate in their therapy sessions and ground those whose moods have gotten elevated beyond their control.

Other than our kids at Therapies for Success, Deedee’s best friend is her cat, Hugo.  They wrestle on the floor, drink together from the same bowl and on cold nights, sleep in the same bed.

There never was a more special therapy dog than our beloved Delilah!
