FAQ
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept checks and credit cards. There is a processing fee for credit card payments.
Do you offer financing options?
Yes. We offer interest-free monthly payment plans. Families may choose to leave pre-dated checks or credit card information on file for monthly payment plans.
Can we cancel or reschedule therapy?
For non-emergency cancellations, we ask for a minimum of 48-hours notice. For emergencies/illnesses, we ask to be notified by 8am that day. Our therapists offer makeups on school holidays, minimum days and weekends. We also offer a makeup week at the end of the semester, during which therapists can schedule sessions not previously made up. Like any group class that meets on a weekly basis, our social thinking group sessions cannot be rescheduled.
How long are sessions?
Speech and language sessions are either 45 or 60 minutes. Literacy sessions can range from 1.25-3 hours in length. The last 10-15 minutes of all sessions are dedicated to parent communication and note taking.
How long does my child need to be enrolled?
We schedule on a semester basis and ask families to commit for that period of time. This ensures the necessary time allotment needed for goal progress and/or achievement.
What are your hours?
Our hours are Monday through Saturday 8am-7pm by appointment only.
Do you take insurance?
While we do not accept insurance payments directly, we do offer complimentary billing on a monthly basis. Please visit LINK for more information.
Do you tutor? How is this different?
Tutoring is not the primary focus of our literacy or math sessions. This is what sets us apart! We teach the foundational skills needed for your child’s independent work completion. That said, we are available for occasional homework help and study sessions for students who qualify and are enrolled in our program.
How are you different from other speech therapy clinics?
We are the only clinic in San Diego County offering combined comprehensive and collaborative therapies under one roof. We have a registered dental hygienist who serves as our board- certified Myofunctional Therapist. This therapist works closely with our Speech Pathologists for students with comorbid speech disorders.
We also have several Speech and Language Pathologists and Literacy Specialists who collaborate on shared students. Our Speech and Language Pathologists are trained with Michelle Garcia Winner’s social thinking curriculum and work closely with our literacy specialists, helping our students to become socially and academically successful.
Our Literacy Specialists are trained to use a variety of Lindamood Bell Programs, as well as the Wilson Reading System, and they work closely with our Speech and Language Pathologists to bridge the gap between oral and written language. Our students learn to study and remember their textbooks and build their critical thinking and vocabulary skills to enhance their reading fluency, comprehension, written expression, spelling and math.
How long is the evaluation?
Our speech and language evaluations are 90-minutes in length and are followed by a 45-minute parent conference to review the report and proposed plan for treatment.
Our myofunctional evaluations are 90-minutes in length with a follow-up report provided.
Our literacy/social evaluations are 3 hours in length and are followed by a 75-90 minute parent conference to review the report and proposed plan for treatment.
School observations are available at an additional cost.
What do I tell my child when coming in for an evaluation?
Many of our families bring their children here for enrichment. They often discuss the areas of challenge and encourage their children by letting them know we make school and social interaction easier for them.
For speech students, families share that this is a place where they can learn to say certain sounds and make their speech clearer for other people to understand.
