Hallie Bitterman was born in San Diego, California. As the daughter of circumnavigating sailors, she was fortunate to grow up in a very close-knit family aboard their own 60-foot Brigantine. Hallie developed into an ever curious and adventurous young woman eager to learn and to explore her wonderous natural world.
Hallie came up through the La Jolla School System and matriculated to The University of California, Santa Cruz campus where she studied Sociology and Political Science. After extensive travel and study abroad, she returned to San Diego to earn her post-graduate degree in Multiple Subject Teaching, later incorporating a Single Subject Mathematics focus, from San Diego State University.
Hallie’s love of working with children began early when she was hired at the age of fifteen as a pool lifeguard at the Jewish Community Center in La Jolla where she soon added Youth Swim Instructor to her job responsibilities. Hallie went on to teach swimming throughout college and continued with private swim lessons for children once she returned to San Diego.
Following her postgraduate studies, Hallie’s passion for helping children learn and succeed was further developed as she established and ran a private tutoring service.
Hallie presently is thrilled to be devoting all of her time and expertise to Jodie K. Schuller & Associates, that is in whatever free time her toddler affords her.
