Melissa Middleton was born and raised in SLC, Utah. She attended the University of Utah and received her BA in Family and Consumer Studies with an emphasis in Child Development. She continued her education at SUU (Southern Utah University) and received her BA in Elementary Education (credentials: K-8th grade).

Working as an elementary school teacher was a dream come true for Melissa. Her love of teaching was evident. During her 9 years’ experience, she had the privilege of teaching many different grade levels. This gave her the knowledge and expertise to teach and interact with a wide array of students. She cherished her time as an educator.

Taking a hiatus from teaching, Melissa moved to San Diego when she married her husband who was in the US Navy. They have lived in many amazing places (San Diego, Japan, Florida, Utah, and back to San Diego). Among the many moves, they had 2 boys who are now teenagers.

Melissa is thrilled to be working at JKS & Associates Therapies for Success. In addition to helping with administrative duties, she is employed as a literacy specialist. Melissa finds real joy in creating positive mindsets in struggling students. She has a kind and patient approach and can help a learner feel at ease. She has the ability to make learning engaging and fun. In Melissa’s free time, she enjoys taking nature walks with her husband and 2 dogs (a frenchie and golden retriever), watching her 2 boys play soccer, vacationing, eating good food, and spending time with the people she loves.
